LPP names new CEO and CIO

Local Pensions Partnership (LPP) has made several changes to its executive leadership team. The U.K.–based pension provider has promoted Chris Rule to CEO and Richard Tomlinson to chief investment officer.

Rule, who formerly served as the interim CEO and managing director and CIO prior to that, was selected for the role following a successful recruitment process, according to LPP.

As CIO, Rule helped drive the in-house and external investment strategy. He also founded and managed GLIL Infrastructure, a collaboration with Northern LGPS.

Rule also served as CIO at London Pensions Fund Authority (LPFA), one of LPP’s founding clients. Prior to that, he held several senior positions, including head of alternatives at SEB Investment Management. He also founded and co-managed the multistrategy team as a principal at Old Mutual Asset Managers.
