Longfellow Real Estate Partners to convert office park into life science hub

by Andrea Zander

Longfellow Real Estate Partners has plans to change Redwood Shores, an 84-acre office park in Redwood City, Calif., into a mixed-use, 3.3 million-square-foot life sciences hub. The plans have been submitted to the city’s planning department.

The project is called Redwood City for Redwood LIFE: Evolve. Demolition will be required for the 20 existing office buildings built in the 1990s. The new community will consist of a state-of-the-art lab and innovation office space; a 104-room hotel; a 46,000-square-foot Amenity Center with 1,400 square feet of dedicated community space; and more than 47 acres of green spaces and trails, including four new parks, that will provide enhanced recreational opportunities and gathering spaces for neighbors and tenants.

Longfellow Real Estate Partners will also invest $85 million to help Redwood City meet its affordable housing goals.
