Mike Weston is leaving LGPS Central, the company managing the pooled assets of eight Local Government Pension Scheme funds in the Midlands of England.
Weston has been CEO of LGPS Central since 2019. He more than doubled the assets under management and the size of the team while launching 23 new funds/limited partnerships across both public and private markets, according to his LinkedIn page.
With combined assets of about £55 billion ($69 billion), LGPS Central is owned equally by all eight of its partner funds and is dedicated to the management of local government pension assets. The partner funds include Cheshire Pension Fund, Derbyshire Pension Fund, Leicestershire Pension Fund, Nottinghamshire Pension Fund, Shropshire Pension Fund, Staffordshire Pension Fund, West Midlands Pension Fund and Worcestershire Pension Fund.
