Legal & General Capital appoints Karen Bashford as COO

Legal & General Capital (LGC) has appointed Karen Bashford to COO, starting in July.

Bashford’s appointment comes as LGC continues to expand internationally and transition its business from an alternative asset origination platform to a multi-boutique manager, deploying third-party capital across its investment specialisms of clean energy, housing, venture capital, specialist commercial real estate, digital infrastructure and GP investing.

Bashford most recently served as head of enterprise change at Schroders. The role included onboarding large assets tranches such as £7 billion ($8.8 billion) of real estate business. She also oversaw the delivery of major infrastructure, regulatory and efficiency programs, looking at operating models end-to-end.
