The Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System (LACERS) has committed up to $25 million to Mavik Real Estate Special Opportunities VS2, according to meeting materials from May 27.
Mavik Real Estate Opportunities VS2, a program of Mavik Capital Management, is a closed-end, opportunistic fund focused on commercial real estate credit in the United States. It has a fundraising goal of $515 million. Its predecessor, Mavik Real Estate Special Opportunities Fund, had a fundraising goal of $400 million and raised $335 million in equity.
LACERS is a public pension fund with $24.1 billion in total assets under management, as of Dec. 31, 2024. As of then, it had a 7 percent real estate allocation target with $1.3 billion in total real estate assets.
