LACERA seeks proposals for real assets emerging manager program

by Kali Persall

The Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA) has launched an RFP for a real assets emerging manager program.

The pension fund is seeking a single manager for a real estate and real assets emerging manager program, or two distinct managers for real estate and real assets. The mandate is to lead a separate account in a manager-of-managers structure to invest in funds led by emerging managers.

The scope of services includes identifying and selecting high-quality emerging managers; conducting independent evaluations of investment opportunities and providing detailed written recommendations, including results of investment and operational due diligence; and evaluating the general partner’s ESG policy and providing ESG metrics.

Proposals are due by March 3. The board of investments will make its selection in the third quarter 2023. For more information about the RFP, click
