Korean investors award U.K. real estate debt mandate

by Andrea Waitrovich

TH Real Estate has been awarded a mandate to invest in the U.K. commercial real estate debt market by two Korean investors, Dongbu Insurance Co. and Dongbu Life Insurance Co.

“The United Kingdom remains an attractive investment destination for CRE debt, with a positive and stable commercial real estate risk-return profile, supported by a liquid and transparent marketplace, and a creditor-friendly and well-understood legal framework,” said Christian Janssen, head of debt at TH Real Estate, in a statement.

The mandate focuses on real estate whole loan investments across the United Kingdom and represents the first separate account in U.K. debt investment for the two Dongbu companies. The debt platform invests across the capital structure, seeking income-focused, stable and attractive risk-adjusted total returns for investors through a diversified portfolio of commercial real estate debt investments.
