KKR JV buys Sydney hotel for $237m

KKR & Co., with partners Futuro Capital and Marprop Real Estate Investors, has acquired Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Hotel for A$315 million ($237 million). It is KKR’s first foray into a major hotel acquisition in Australia.

The seller was Singapore-based Fraser’s Hospitality Trust (FHT).

The five-star heritage hotel operated by AccorHotels is located in the heart of Sydney’s financial district. It totals 436 rooms on 17 floors, with a total area of ​​33,589 square meters (361,549 square feet).
