Global investment firm KKR has appointed Jan Baumgart as director and head of real estate Germany, the firm announced today.
Baumgart will be responsible for property and platform transactions in Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia, focusing on real estate assets with attractive growth prospects.
According to Christian Ollig, head of KKR in Germany, Baumgart will help the firm expand its presence in Germany, and strengthen its diversified investment approach across asset classes.
Ollig said the firm has made more than $5 billion of long-term equity investments in more than 20 companies in Germany, with a special focus on large SMEs.
Baumgart joins KKR from Patrizia Alternative Investments, where he worked as the managing director for eight years. There, he was responsible for the investments in housing company Süddeutsche Wohnen Group, the LEO office portfolios leased to the federal state of Hessen, as well as the acquisition of fund management comp
