by Kali Persall

The Fire & Police Pension Association of Colorado (FPPA) has appointed Kevin Lindahl as executive director, following a nationwide search. He replaces former executive director Dan Slack, who retired on Dec. 31, 2021 after 13 years with FPPA.

Lindahl served as FPPA’s general counsel since 2000, and as deputy executive director since 2018. During that time, he led the passage of numerous pension-related legislative reforms, and also led institutional shareholders in legal actions seeking corporate-governance reform and monetary damages.

“Kevin has done an excellent job of safeguarding the retirement funds of Colorado’s public safety officers,” said Shannon Bird, representative and pension review commission chair. “I look forward to our continued work together at the capitol toward this shared goal.”

FPPA administers retirement benefits and invests pension assets for more than 26,000 firefighters and police officers thro
