Kentucky Retirement appoints Steven Herbert as executive director

The Kentucky Retirement Systems (KRS) has appointed Steven Herbert as executive director, office of investments. The role is equivalent to CIO, according to the pension fund.

Herbert most recently served as COO of Florida-based Augustine Asset Management for nearly three years. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade as director of institutional marketing at McKinley Capital Management, where he was responsible for sales, consultant relations and client service.

Herbert also spent seven years with Mercer, where he was the lead consultant for a number of the firm’s larger retirement fund clients in the United States and in Europe. He began his career at Watson Wyatt Investment Consulting, where he consulted with institutional clients in the southeastern United States and in South America.
