Jonathan Rose Cos., a New York–based green real estate policy, planning, development and investment firm, has closed on $525 million in capital commitments for its Rose Affordable Housing Preservation Fund 5, exceeding the fundraising target of $500 million, according to several news reports.
The fund opened to investors in August 2019 and had raised $210.6 million from 126 investors, as of Aug. 13, 2020, according to an SEC filing from that date. The impact fund will focus on providing affordable housing.
A similar previous impact fund raised by Jonathan Rose Cos. in 2017 acquired and preserved affordable multifamily housing, implementing practical green strategies to reduce environmental impacts and operating costs and to fund social, educational and other services for residents.
