Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) has re-appointed Eiji Ueda for another term as its CIO, Bloomberg reports.
Ueda has overseen seven consecutive quarters of gains as CIO, and will continue in that capacity for two more years.
Ueda, the former co-head of Goldman Sachs’s Asia-Pacific securities division, took up the role of CIO at GPIF in April 2020, when it boasted a portfolio of 169 trillion yen ($1.5 trillion).
In November 2021, GPIF recorded its sixth consecutive quarterly gain on investments, clocking a 1 percent gain for the second quarter.
