Investors can help drive upward mobility, says economist John Friedman

John Friedman, professor of economics at Brown University and founding co-director at Opportunity Insights, discussed social mobility and income inequality with IREI staff at the Visions, Insights & Perspectives (VIP) Americas 2020 conference, in Dana Point, Calif.

“We use big data in lots of different ways,” says Friedman. “One way is seeing how upward mobility varies across the country .... You might think a high-mobility neighborhood requires living in the most expensive part of town, but that’s not the case.”
