Illinois State names Johara Farhadieh CIO

Johara Farhadieh was named chief investment officer of the $16.5 billion Illinois State Board of Investment, according to Farhadieh’s LinkedIn page.

Prior to the new position, Farhadieh served as deputy executive director at the pension fund since March 2016. She was responsible for managing and executing ISBI’s investment policies and acted as senior adviser to the executive director and the board of trustees of ISBI as it relates to portfolio investments and policies, according to her LinkedIn page. In addition, she assisted in the development and review of the long-term strategic asset allocation strategies.

Before that, Farhadieh served as portfolio manager for ISBI since August 2010, and portfolio officer since September 2007.

Terms of the promotion have not been officially disclosed, and Farhadieh was unable to be reached for comment.
