Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund commits $150m to real estate

The 43.1 billion Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) Board of Trustees has approved two new follow-on commitments to its real estate portfolio.

The pension fund invested $100 million to Starwood Distressed Opportunity Fund XII LP, subject to satisfactory legal due diligence. IMRF is an existing investor in Starwood’s Real Estate Funds totaling $145 million in aggregate commitments.

And the other investment was $50 million to Torchlight Debt Fund VII LP, subject to satisfactory legal due diligence. IMRF is an existing investor in Torchlight’s Real Estate Funds totaling $150 million in aggregate commitments.
