Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund commits $150m to Artemis, Basis Investment Group funds

The $54.9 billion Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) has approved commitments to real estate funds managed by Artemis Real Estate Partners and Basis Investment Group, according to recent investment meeting notes.

IMRF put $100 million in Artemis Real Estate Partners Fund IV, and $50 million in BIG Real Estate Fund II.

Artemis Real Estate Partners Fund IV opened in March with a $1.5 billion fundraising target. The fund will make value-add investments in property types, such as apartments, office, industrial, healthcare, self-storage, hotels and retail.

BIG Real Estate Fund II also opened in March with a fundraising target of $750 million. Basis Investment Group originates and acquires diversified CRE debt investments across the capital stack of stabilized, transitional, and development assets throughout the United States.
