Houston Police Officers backs Abacus Multi-Family Partners VI

The Houston Police Officers Pension System has contributed $35 million to Abacus Multi-Family Partners VI, a recently launched value-add real estate fund managed by Abacus Capital Group.

Fund VI invests in multifamily properties throughout the United States. Like its predecessor, Abacus Multi-Family Partners V, the sixth fund will acquire properties with specific characteristics, such as relative affordability in markets and submarkets showing favorable multifamily trends.

The new fund is seeking to raise $1.25 billion. A recent filing with the SEC shows that the fund already has secured more than $618 million toward that goal.

Houston did not comment on its investment activity at the time of publication.
