by Andrea Waitrovich

Hong Kong–based China Oceanwide Holdings has purchased the 106,213-square-foot office building located at 80 South St. in Manhattan for $390 million, or $3,672 per square foot. The seller was Howard Hughes, which purchased the office building in 2014 for $100 million from Cord Meyer Development.

China Oceanwide Holdings plans to demolish the existing office building and develop a mixed-use tower comprising commercial and residential space.
