Hines creates new global business unit integrating ESG and venture investing

Hines has announced the formation of a new global business unit designed to address the disruptive changes in the built environment called EXP by Hines.

EXP by Hines represents the company’s intention to explore and address the shifts underway in real estate, experiment with innovative solutions around flexibility, sustainability and other areas that add value for clients, and expedite ESG outcomes for a more sustainable, livable world.

EXP by Hines is a new function that consists of two business groups: Global ESG and the Global Venture Lab. Hines has assembled a leadership team tasked with uncovering new opportunities and disrupting the commercial real estate industry.

Doug Holte, CEO of EXP, was a senior partner in Hines’ west region from 1987 to 2009 and has returned to Hines after a career at the Irvine Company, and his own innovation firm AWI (Agile Workweek Investments).
