Henderson Park and Hines, in a joint venture, have acquired a site in central Barcelona where they plan to develop Cristobal de Moura, a 350-bed student housing project, the companies announced today.
The transaction amount was not disclosed.
The new building will also be comprised of 3,610 square meters (38,857 square feet) of office and 176 square meters (1,894 square feet) of retail space.
Upon completion, Cristobal de Moura will feature an outdoor swimming pool, gym and sport facilities, study rooms, an auditorium, and a café. The asset will be managed by Hines’ in-house operating platform, Aparto.
Cristobal de Moura is situated near the Aparto Diagonal Mar, a 750-bed student housing project also owned by Henderson Park and Hines. Both buildings are located in the 22@ Innovation District Aparto Diagonal Mar is currently under development and slated for completion in the 2021-2022 academic year, according to the companies.
