Hammerson in talks to sell Glasgow Silverburn Shopping Center €165m

by Andrea Zander

Hammerson is in talks over the sale of the Silverburn shopping center near Glasgow for £140 million (€165 million/$18 million).

Silverburn is held in a 50-50 joint venture with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board

(CPPIB).

The potential sale is part of the firm’s disposals of noncore assets that aim to strengthen the balance sheet, rebalance the portfolio and enable the company to recycle capital for investment.

Silverburn was originally bought by Hammerson for about £300 million (€353 million/$400 million) in 2009.
