Hammerson JV buys four European retail centers for €587m

VIA Outlets, a partnership among Hammerson, APG, Meyer Bergman and Value Retail, has acquired four European retail outlet centers for €587 million ($619 million).

The outlet mall assets are located near major cities in Germany, Portugal, Spain and Poland. The transaction takes the total size of the VIA Outlets portfolio to €1.1 billion ($1.2 billion) across 10 assets.

The largest retail outlet is in Zweibrucken, Germany. The property totals 312,152 square feet with 114 tenants. It was Germany’s first established retail outlet, and tenants include Versace, Michael Kors, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Esprit.

Located close to Porto, Portugal, the outlet in Vila Do Conde totals 301,390 square feet with 129 tenants. Outlet tenants include Polo Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors and Carolina Herrera.

The outlet in Spain is located northeast of Seville and totals 176,530 square feet with 65 retail units. Tenants include Tommy Hilfige
