Greystar, Arlington Advisors make new appointments

by Jody Barhanovich

Greystar, the global rental-housing leader, has hired Will Atkinson to drive forward the company’s U.K. investment program to deliver 10,000 multifamily units. Atkinson has been tasked with seeking out new development opportunities and site acquisitions in London and key regional cities.

Atkinson is a property investment specialist with more than 15 years worth of expertise in the sector, and he joins Greystar from British Land. In his seven years with the REIT, he led a number of high-profile transactions, including a phased acquisition program at Ealing Broadway over five years.

In addition, Arlington Advisors, the U.K.-based investment manager, has appointed Neil Buchanan as general counsel and company secretary. Buchanan will serve as company secretary for all Arlington entities, managing the company’s compliance requirements and supporting Arlington’s Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) acquisitions program, by driving legal work streams on new projects.

Buchanan is a U.K.-accredited solicitor, having qualified with international firm Osborne Clarke, where he advised on a range of infrastructure and renewable energy projects. He joins Arlington from Campus Living Villages, where he was the commercial manager and head of legal (U.K.) and was instrumental in delivering the company’s commercial strategy.
