Goldman Sachs has acquired a 75 percent stake in a new green office development near London Bridge on St. Thomas Street.
The developer of the £500 million (€599 million/$679 million) project is Edge. The project, EDGE London Bridge, is scheduled to be completed in 2050. The 400,000-square-foot building will use cross-laminated timber instead of steel to lower the building’s carbon footprint.
The 26-story building will total 260,000 square feet of office space, a gym, terrace, a communal club, a 180-seat auditorium, a publicly accessible ground-floor coffee shop and a public park space around the building.
The development is the first U.K. joint venture for Edge and Goldman Sachs.
