Goldman Sachs Asset Management makes slew of new hires

Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) has hired Elizabeth Burton, the former CIO of the Employees’ Retirement System of the State of Hawaii, as a managing director and client investment strategist of its client solutions and capital markets (CSCM) business, according to Reuters.

Based in New York, Burton will report to Chris Kojima, global head of CSCM at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

The bank also recently announced a number of leadership changes within its defined contribution (DC) and retail retirement space, following the acquisition of NextCapital Group, an enterprise digital advice company, in August.

Chris Lyon will become head of DC investments, focusing on business and product strategy for both managed accounts and DC. John Patterson, previously CEO of NextCapital, will become head of the DC product within MAS and will focus on expanding the NextCapital offering. Eliza Hollyday will continue as COO for MAS.
