Gilbane Development has appointed Andreas Vlahakis as head of capital markets based out of the firm’s New York City office. Vlahakis brings extensive experience in real estate capital markets, including a track record spanning all asset classes with a focus on ground-up multifamily and student housing investments.
As head of capital markets, Vlahakis will refine and execute Gilbane Development’s funding strategy, reporting directly to James Patchett, president and CEO. Vlahakis will help set the firm’s capital strategy and make investment decisions, develop and strengthen relationships with funding and equity partners, and lead transaction structuring and negotiations.
Before joining Gilbane, Vlahakis served as managing director for capital markets at Thor Equities, where he led all equity-raising efforts encompassing the firm’s deals and partners. He also served as senior vice president and chief of staff at Thor Equities. Vlahakis held positions at U.S. Prop
