by Andrea Waitrovich

Henderson Park has acquired Westin Paris – Vendôme hotel First Arrondissement of Paris for approximately €550 million ($647 million).

The seller was Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC, which purchased the asset in 2005 from InterContinental Hotel Paris.

The hotel has a gross floor area of approximately 300,000 square feet, and includes 428 rooms, as well as three restaurants, several bars, and large conference spaces, including three historic lounges, a fitness center and a spa. It also includes 13 prominent shops located on the ground floor on rue de Rivoli and rue Castiglione, adjacent to the Lourve museum.

This historic Haussmann-style building was built in 1878. It was opened under the Hôtel Continental brand, the most luxurious hotel in Paris at the time, and has hosted many celebrities such as the French novelist, Victor Hugo.

In 2016 Henderson Park purchased Le Méridien Etoile from Mount Kellet Capital Management and Cedar Capital
