GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, is looking for a buyer for its Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk hotel, located on the coast of the Japanese city of Fukuoka.
The sale could fetch between $583 million and $617 million, according to Bloomberg, which reported GIC has been marketing the property to potential investors since late 2023.
GIC acquired the 1,053-room hotel in 2007 when it was known as JAL Resort Sea Hawk Hotel Fukuoka, according to Mingtiandi. Three years later, the hotel underwent a $20 million renovation before reopening as a Hilton, making it Asia Pacific’s largest hotel under the Hilton brand at the time.
