GIC announces senior investment leadership changes

GIC has announced changes to its senior management leadership team, effective Oct. 1.

Choo Yong Cheen, current CIO for private equity, also will be appointed deputy group chief investment officer. In the expanded role, he will oversee private-market asset classes, including private equity, real estate and infrastructure, as well as the Integrated Strategies Group, which invests in less conventional opportunities.

Liew Tzu Mi, current CIO for fixed income and multi-asset and director of the Portfolio Execution & Solutions Group, will be appointed deputy group chief investment officer. She will retain her leadership role in the Portfolio Execution & Solutions Group and step down as chief investment officer for fixed income and multi-asset. In her new role, she will oversee total portfolio research and strategy while continuing to support portfolio implementation and execution.
