Gaw Capital invests in Hong Kong office towers

Gateway Fund VI, a fund managed by Gaw Capital, has acquired a 49 percent stake in Hengli’s purchase of Cityplaza Three and Four in Hong Kong.

The sellers were Swire Pacific Limited and Swire Properties.

Cityplaza Three is a 21-story building that spans a gross floor area of around 448,000 square feet. While the adjoining Cityplaza Four totals 556,000 square feet of office spaces. Swire has full ownership in Cityplaza Four, while 10 floors in the Cityplaza Three project are owned by the Hong Kong government.

Gateway Real Estate Fund VI launched this year. Gateway Real Estate Fund VI is an opportunistic real estate fund that will invest in properties throughout Greater China and also has a focus in Japan, South Korea, Australia and Southeast Asia. The fund is seeking to raise $2 billion in total equity commitments, according to the filing.
