FIRSTavenue opens a new office in Seoul, hires Richard Kim

by Released

FIRSTavenue, a global private funds and corporate placement agent, has announced that Richard Kim will join as principal to lead a new office in Seoul. The office is located at IFC Three, Yeongdeungpo-gu.

For the past five years, FIRSTavenue has worked with Kim in his capacity as their key relationship manager and senior sales executive covering South Korea, with various broker dealers. He will now work directly for FIRSTavenue coordinating FIRSTavenue’s relationship with local broker-dealers. He had previously established and led the alternatives placement business of Heungkuk Securities and before that he was with Hanwha Investment & Securities and KB Securities.

“I am delighted to have officially joined FIRSTavenue at a time when Korea is truly coming into its own,” says Kim. “I look forward to working closely with the team to distribute and execute first-class mandates.”

“We expect to reap the benefits from having our own presence on the ground at a time when Korean institutional appetite for international alternative investments is set to grow significantly,” says Paul Buckley, managing partner.

FIRSTavenue’s clients include leading GPs and management teams across the key private market and industry sectors: private equity, private credit, real estate and real assets.
