First “supertall” building planned for Singapore

Envisioned as one of Asia’s most sustainable skyscrapers, the mixed-use commercial and residential redevelopment of 8 Shenton Way will see 305 meters (1,001 feet), 63 stories, redefine Singapore’s skyline on completion in 2028 by Perennial Holdings and its consortium of investors.

Asset enhancement and redeveloped is currently underway for the property, which will comprise more than 148,000 square meters (1.6 million square feet) of floor space for office, retail, hotel and luxury-residential space, as well as 10,000 square meters (107,639 square feet) of elevated, public green space, according to Chicago-based designers Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the US architects behind Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.
