The Firefighters’ Pension Investment Fund (FPIF), which invests and manages the assets of Illinois firefighter pension funds, has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for an open-end core real estate fund.
As of Dec. 31, 2023, FPIF had a 4.7 percent exposure toward real estate investments, well below its 10 percent target allocation for the asset class.
FPIF’s RFP stated it will select one or more diversified open-end core real estate products and intends to commit $125 million to $525 million to open-end core real estate investments.
