Finnish investor appoints head of strategy and allocation

Jarkko Soikkeli has been promoted to director, head of strategy and allocation, at Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Co., the largest private investor in Finland. He previously served as a strategist for the $52.7 billion fund from May 2017 to December 2019.

Prior to that, Soikkeli held positions at OP Financial Group, KY Foundation, Pohjola Bank and Swedbank Markets, according to his LinkedIn page.

Varma makes its major real estate investments through diversified real estate funds, which are complemented by project-specific funds and co-investments, according to the firm’s website. Varma’s international investments focus on Europe's largest real estate markets – the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Sweden.
