Facebook has plans to expand its data center in Los Lunas, N.M.

The addition includes four buildings, totaling 1.8 million square feet. The campus is more than doubling in size and will total six buildings covering nearly 2.8 million square feet.. It will bring Facebook’s total investment in the project to more than $1 billion.

Construction on the site is supporting over 1,000 long-term construction jobs and Facebook projects the construction on this project will continue until the year 2023.

A 30-megawatt solar generation project is also being installed. The entire campus will be powered by 100 percent renewable energy.

Facebook broke ground on the first building in October 2016, which is expected to go live by the end of next year.

Recently, Facebook announced plans to build a $1 billion data center in Henrico County, Va. And in August the social media giant also announced plans to invest $750 million to build a new facility in New Albany, located near Columbus, Ohio.
