Digital Edge to acquire Malaysian data center site for $87m

by Released

Digital Edge has agreed to acquire an industrial site in Johor, Malaysia, for MYR 346.5 million ($87.3 million), marking the Stonepeak-backed data center operator’s first known land purchase in the country as it expands in Southeast Asia’s digital infrastructure market, reported Mingtiandi.

The seller was Crescendo Corp., according to a stock exchange filing by the Malaysian developer.

The site is located within Bandar Cemerlang Industrial Park and is designated for data center use. It will be acquired with vacant possession.

Digital Edge plans to develop and operate a data center on the site, subject to regulatory approvals and the securing of utility connections, including power supply arrangements.
