CIO of South Korea’s POBA to depart in January 2022

by Kali Persall

Jang Dong-hun, CIO of South Korea's $15 billion Public Officials Benefit Association (POBA), is leaving after six years in the role, according to various news reports.

Jang joined in November 2015 and will depart in January 2022, making him the longest-running CIO at a public pension fund in Korea, according to AsianInvestor.

Six years is the maximum amount anyone can hold the role, which starts as a three-year tenure that can only be renewed once. POBA already has begun the search for Jang’s replacement.
