Ben Samild, CIO of the Future Fund Management Agency, Australia’s sovereign wealth fund, has announced that he is leaving the organization to take up a role with a major institutional investor in the Middle East.
Samild joined the Future Fund in 2013 and has spent 12 years making a contribution as a member of the investment team, including most recently as CIO, and before that as deputy CIO. He was also a member of the senior leadership team.
Samild was a contributor to the Future Fund’s original work in 2020 to better understand a changing investment environment, and as CIO he led the team in continuing to implement changes to adjust the portfolio’s positioning.
Deputy CIO Hugh Murray has been appointed interim CIO as Samild supports him with a smooth transition.
