Mark Spindel, CIO of the $10.8 billion District of Columbia Retirement Board (DCRB), left his post on July 30 after less than a year with the pension fund.
Spindel is a CIO and senior asset management executive with more than 30 years of investment experience in the private and public sectors, according to his LinkedIn page. Prior to DCRB, he founded Potomac River Capital, served as deputy treasurer and CIO of the World Bank and International Finance Corp., was the director and senior portfolio manager of ABN Amro Asset Management, and served as vice president and senior portfolio manager of Salomon Brothers.
“During the past year, Mark was able to sustain the dynamic growth of the past several years,” said Joseph Clark, board chair of DCRB. “We bid Mark every success as DCRB continues its steadfast focus on maximizing returns for our constituents and achieving operational excellence.”
