The Children’s Investment Fund Management, a U.K.-based investment manager, has raised $1.338 billion for its new fund, TCI Real Estate Partners Fund III, according to a filing with the SEC. The firm did not comment on its fundraising efforts.
TCI Real Estate Partners Fund III is a closed-end real estate vehicle that will invest in debt secured by properties globally.
The fund’s predecessor, TCI Real Estate Partners Fund II, held a $1.9 billion final close in 2017. Fund II received a commitment of up to $100 million from the New York State Teachers’ Retirement System. The flagship fund in the series, TCI Real Estate Partners Fund I, held a $1.1 billion final close in 2015.
The firm takes a private equity investment approach to the public markets, concentrates its portfolio in a limited number of investments and adopts a long-term investment horizon.
