CalSTRS real estate commitments for first half 2026 top $5b

The California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) has committed more than $5 billion to real estate in the first half 2026.

GID Commercial Real Estate Credit Fund received $200 million for its closed-end, core-plus, value-added fund investing in residential, student housing and industrial assets across the United States. The fund aims to raise $1 billion in equity.

PAG Loan Fund VI, a program of PAG Real Estate, received $200 million for its closed-end strategy targeting real estate debt and corporate financing across the Asia Pacific region. It has a maximum fund size of $2.5 billion.

CalSTRS committed $200 million in an additional allocation to PacificCal Debt V, a program of PCCP. This fund is a closed-end, core real estate fund that invests in debt secured by real estate in the United States. CalSTRS invested $297 million to this fund in 2021. A fundraising goal was not disclosed.
