The $2.5 billion San Joaquin County (Calif.) Employees’ Retirement Association has committed $75 million to Mesa West Real Estate Income Fund IV, according to recent meeting documents.
The value-added debt fund, managed by Mesa West Capital, is targeting $750 million in equity commitments and will focus on lending across all major property types in primary markets.
The commitment falls under the pension fund’s credit portfolio, which is a new asset class for SJCERA.
