BVK appoints head of global real estate investment management

Germany’s Bayerische Versorgungskammer (BVK) has appointed Manuel Philippe Wormer as head of global real estate investment management.

In this role, Wormer will be responsible for BVK’s existing and future real estate investments globally — excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland, which are organized in the D-A-CH team. BVK’s global investments are held in more 45 separately managed accounts that include direct and indirect investments as well as listed real estate in both equity and debt structures.

Since he joined BVK in 2017 as senior investment manager, Wormer has sourced, underwritten and invested in real estate directly, as well as indirectly via fund investments and listed platforms across sectors, geographies and risk types. This has included various new manager selection projects, research efforts and capital allocation planning.
