Brookfield Asset Management has raised $1.1 billion for its Senior Mezzanine Real Estate Finance Fund, which invests in debt secured by U.S. properties in strategic locations.
Launched in 2017, the fund was backed by 22 investors, according to an SEC filing. An equity fundraising target was not disclosed.
As of an earlier SEC document filed in November 2018, the fund had raised $824.8 million from 15 investors.
Brookfield’s real estate debt strategies are implemented through closed- and open-end investment vehicles. The firm has more than $500 billion in assets under management.
