Brookfield, through one of its private real estate funds, has plans to acquire Manhattan’s Hotel Indigo on the Lower East Side from Brack Capital Real Estate for $160 million, according to The Real Deal.
The 294-room, 26-story hotel was still stabilizing in 2017, which was its first full year of operation.
In another recent transaction this year, Brookfield sold a 51 percent interest in 1801 California, a downtown office tower in Denver, for $285.6 million in April. It is considered Denver’s second-tallest tower.
PNC Realty Investors, on behalf of the AFL-CIO Building Investment Trust, was the buyer. Brookfield retained a 49 percent interest in the asset.
