Damien Webb will join Brighter Super in April as CIO of the A$37 billion ($26 billion) superannuation fund after an extensive international recruitment search. Webb, deputy CIO at Aware Super, leads Aware Super’s U.K. operations, having opened its London office in 2023.
Webb succeeds Mark Rider, who stepped down as CIO in December 2025 after four years at Brighter Super. Interim CIO David O’Donnell will become deputy CIO of Brighter Super once Webb begins his new position.
Webb will be based in Sydney, though the majority of the Brighter Super team is based in the organization’s Brisbane, Australia, office, according to Investment Magazine.
