The Ventura County (Calif.) Employees’ Retirement Association (VCERA) has committed $20 million to Bridge Debt Strategies Fund V (Bridge V).
Managed by Bridge Investment Group, Bridge V seeks to raise $2.5 billion of capital and will invest opportunistically in Freddie Mac multifamily housing securities and in real estate loans geographically diversified across office, senior housing and student housing sectors.
Bridge V is targeting a 50–50 percentage split between investments in direct lending and in real estate debt securities.
At its March 2023 meeting, the VCERA board approved a private credit pacing commitment target of $225 million. With the $20 million commitment to Bridge V, VCERA hits its $225 million goal for private credit commitments for the year.
In 2021, VCERA committed $25 million to Bridge IV, and in 2019 it committed $25 million to Bridge III.
