Bouwinvest commits €75m to French residential and healthcare projects

by Andrea Zander

Bouwinvest Real Estate Investors has committed €75 million ($86 million) to French residential and healthcare real estate projects, as the Dutch institutional investor picks up the pace in its international investment expansion.

This investment fits within Bouwinvest’s strategy of targeting the senior and general residential market in France. Bouwinvest’s research indicates that the demand for rental properties is expected to grow substantially on the back of the country’s growing population and ageing demographic profile, particularly in the main metropolitan areas. Bouwinvest’s European investment portfolio is projected to grow from €1 billion ($1.2 billion) this year to €1.5 billion ($1.7 billion) in the next two years, as part of a broader strategy to expand international assets under management to €4.3 billion ($4.9 billion) by 2020. Total assets under management is expected to grow to €13 billion ($15 billion) in 2020.
