Boston Retirement System rehires NEPC as investment consultant

by Kali Persall

The Boston Retirement System (BRS) has rehired NEPC as investment consultant, following an RFP issued in February.

BRS sought proposals from qualified firms interested in providing overall general investment consulting services, including asset allocation, risk management, public markets, private real estate, private equity/debt consulting and hedge fund or other alternative investments consulting.

The term of the contract will be five years with options for two additional one-year extensions.

The BRS investment portfolio is valued at $6.7 billion, with approximately $2.2 billion invested with the Pension Reserves Investment Trust Fund.

As of Dec. 31, 2021, BRS’ real estate portfolio was valued at $584 million.

The pension fund could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
